</script><br /> The secret I&rsquo;ve found is that training for lean muscle and strength requires the proper application of three vital elements that are often ignored by those who attempt it.&nbsp; Those three elements are:</p>
<p> -Intensity</p>
<p> -Volume &amp; Frequency</p>
<p> -Progression</p>
<p> The intensity is how hard it is to perform for you, given your current condition.&nbsp; The volume and frequency are how much and how often you perform the exercise.&nbsp; The progression is related to how much the demands increase from workout to workout.</p>
<p> Most times, weight training, is carried on for too long and performed too many times per week.&nbsp; It is unfortunately treated much the same way as so-called fat burning aerobic exercise.&nbsp; But they are vastly different forms of exercise.&nbsp; In fact, they&rsquo;re complete opposites.</p>
<p> Aerobic exercise typically is characterized by low to moderate intensity, high volume and frequency, and little progression.&nbsp; Anaerobic exercise, or weight training, must be performed at a high intensity, lower volume and frequency, and with progression to be as effective as possible.<br /> <!-- WSA: ad in context default not shown: too many ads --><br /> No amount of weight training performed at a low or moderate intensity will provide significant muscle or strength building benefit beyond the first few weeks.&nbsp; On a high level view, it is simply the combination of sufficient intensity, coupled with attempting to increase either the number of repetitions of a weight training exercise or the amount of weight used each and every workout that will keep your body evolving into the ultimate fat burning machine!</p>
<p> You also have to pay attention to other details when creating an effective and efficient routine to maximize your workout and minimize your time spent in the gym.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp; Because perhaps even more important that the workout itself is the rest period that follows.&nbsp; You&rsquo;re not going to get stronger or more muscular if you don&rsquo;t rest.</p>
<p> You see, when you strength train properly, you are creating tiny injuries to your muscles.&nbsp; You then have to let the body repair itself, and then overcompensate and build upon the already existing amount of muscle mass you have.&nbsp; If you workout again before that process in completed, you&rsquo;ll experience lackluster, if any, muscle building or fat burning results.</p>
<p> So make sure to get proper rest between workouts, which typically means a minimum of 1 to 3 full days of rest between properly executed resistance workouts.</p>

<p> After all, this is the kind of stuff that many of the popular fitness and diet gurus typically recommend to burn fat.&nbsp; But with so many different strategies and plans being pushed as the be all and end all, what happens is we tend to overboard.</p>

<p>The answer to the age-old question of &quot;What is the best ab workout for losing stomach fat?&quot; is&#8230;<br /> None! Ab workouts alone don&#8217;t create enough of a metabolic response in your body to create fat loss.</p>
<p> As a trainer, nutrition specialist, and fitness professional, I often get asked what the best types of exercises and workouts are for losing stubborn stomach fat in order to bring out visible six pack abs. The problem is that most people with excess stomach fat looking to try to uncover their abs are searching for some &quot;miracle abdominal workout&quot; that is going to slash the fat off their abs in no time.</p>
<p> <!-- WSA: ad in context default not shown: too many ads -->
<p> The thing is&#8230; they are going about the problem entirely the wrong way! The truth is that you don&#8217;t lose stomach fat by doing ab workouts.</p>
<p> The problem is that focusing most of your time and effort on abdominal exercises and abs workouts to try to flatten your stomach and bring out 6-pack abs is simply wasting your time from doing the correct workout programs that will acutally <a href="http://HOWTOLOSEBELLYFATNOW.NET/recommends/mikeg1.php" target="_blank">reduce your body fat for good</a> .</p>
<p> If I were to choose an answer as to what the best exercises are for losing belly fat, my answer would include full body exercises such as the following:</p>
<p> various forms of squats, lunges, deadlifts, clean &amp; presses, snatches, swings, presses and pulls, mountain climbers, sprinting, etc.</p>
<p> These types of full body exercises would encompass a much higher percentage of the workouts I would design instead of abs exercises directly targeting the midsection. The way you combine those full body exercises into a strategic workout that maximizes your metabolism is also very important.</p>
<p> Don&#8217;t get me wrong&#8230; I do recommend a certain amount of exercises that directly target the abs and core, but these are only a small fraction of the programs I design for my clients as your time is better spent focusing on the full body exercises that stimulate the greatest hormonal and metabolic changes within the body. In addition, a side-effect of working out using mostly full body multi-joint combo exercises are that you indirectly work your entire midsection even though you are not specifically targeting the abs.</p>
<p> Keep in mind that the most important factor for losing belly fat to see your abs is actually in the nutrition arena. No matter how hard you workout, if your diet is full of junk, then your abdominals will be covered with ugly fat. Nutrition is without a doubt the &quot;king of getting a six pack&quot;.</p>
<p> So let&#8217;s clear this up for good&#8230;</p>
<p> Stop wasting so much of your time focusing on situps, crunches, leg raises, and all those silly worthless &quot;ab contraptions&quot; in your efforts to try to develop 6-pack abs. Instead focus on high intensity full body lifts using combination multi-joint exercises all strategically combined into highly effective fat loss workouts. Couple that with a healthy diet full of natural unprocessed whole foods as close to their natural state as possible, and those elusive six-pack abdominals will yours in no time!</p>

<p>There has been so much confusion about the topic of good carbohydrates and bad carbohydrates in recent years&#8230; I wanted to help clear up some of that confusion for you and set you on a clearer path to <a href="http://HOWTOLOSEBELLYFATNOW.NET/recommends/mikeg1.php" target="_blank">lifelong fat loss success</a> and healthier eating.</p>
<p> First of all, although I am not a &quot;low carb&quot; believer (I certainly don&#8217;t think extremely low carbohydrate diets are healthy), I do believe that one of the main reasons that the vast majority of people struggle to ever lose weight is that they are over-consuming processed refined carbohydrates such as pasta, bagels, breads, cereals, rice, muffins, sodas, juices, candies, crackers, etc.</p>
<p> <!-- WSA: ad in context default not shown: too many ads -->
<p> It is exceedingly hard to lose weight if you are over-consuming any of these types of refined processed carbohydrates (even if you work out extremely hard). In addition to causing big blood sugar swings and insulin surges that stimulate direct body fat storage, eating too many carbohydrates also increases your cravings and overall appetite.</p>
<p> Even carbohydrate sources that most people think are &quot;healthy&quot; really are just excess calories that do not really contain significant nutrient density&#8230; and many types of breads and cereals claim to be &quot;whole grain&quot; through clever marketing although in reality, the first ingredient in them is refined flour, which is just going to spike your blood sugar and create an insulin surge. After years of eating excess processed carbohydrates, it becomes harder and harder for insulin to do it&#8217;s job and continue handling all of this blood sugar, and insulin resistance and eventual type 2 diabetes can occur in many people.</p>
<p> My opinion on this is that the majority of people struggling to lose weight would get much better results by following these types of guidelines:</p>
<p> 1. Reduce overall grain-based foods in your diet (pasta, cereal, crackers, rice, etc) and focus more of your diet on healthy free range, grass-fed meats and eggs, raw grass-fed dairy, and a whole lot of vegetables.</p>
<p> 2. Instead of grains for most of your carbohydrate intake, try getting most of your carbs from veggies, sweet potatoes, and a variety of berries and whole fruits (NOT fruit juices, which remove the beneficial fiber as well as other important nutrients in the fruit)</p>
<p> 3. If you are going to get any grains at all, focus on the most nutrient dense and fibrous portions of the grain&#8230; the bran and the germ. This means that the healthiest ideas are using oat bran instead of oat meal, and using wheat germ and rice bran by adding them to your salads, yogurt, cottage cheese, soups, smoothies, etc. This way you get all of the most nutrient dense parts of the grains without all of the excess starches and calories.</p>
<p> 4. To replace the void if you are accustomed to consuming large quantities of cereals, bread, pasta, and other carbohydrate sources&#8230; try filling that void with additional healthy fats such as avocados, guacamole, nuts, seeds, nut butters as well as healthy proteins such as grass-fed raw dairy and grass fed meats, whole free-range organic eggs, etc. Healthy fats and protein sources go a long way to satisfying your appetite, controlling proper blood sugar and hormone levels, and helping you to make real progress on weight loss for life.</p>
<p> With all of that said, here&#8217;s one of my favorite carbohydrate sources that is high in fiber as well as contains a high density of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins, and minerals&#8230; it is yams and/or sweet potatoes. Try slicing them into thin slivers and sauteeing them with a few tablespoons of water in a pan for about 5 minutes for a quicker healthy carb (instead of baking them for over an hour). Finish them off with a touch of grass-fed organic butter and some cinnamon and you&#8217;ve got a delicous and healthy carbohydrate side dish!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The 2 fattening foods that I&#8217;m going to talk about in this article may actually shock you&#8230; most people falsely believe these 2 foods are &quot;healthy&quot;.&nbsp; In all of my years working as a Certified Nutrition Specialist, this usually surprises people when I mention they should consider eliminating these foods from their diet.</p>
<p> Everybody these days knows how bad trans fats and high fructose corn syrup are for you, so I figured I&#8217;d spare you yet another lecture on those&#8230; Instead, read on to see a couple foods that may shock you that they may be packing on the blubber.<br /> <!-- WSA: ad in context default not shown: too many ads -->
<p> <strong>The first type of food that is often falsely believed to be healthy is wheat products</strong>&#8230; this includes most breads, cereals, bagels, muffins, pasta, crackers, and so on.&nbsp; And yes, I am including &quot;whole wheat&quot; in the category of this fattening food.</p>
<p> First of all, a large percentage of the population has some degree of intolerance to the gluten in wheat and some other grains. Full blown celiacs are the most sensitive to it, but what most people don&#8217;t realize is that the majority of the population was never meant to eat large quantities of wheat.&nbsp; The human digestive system has never adapted to large amounts of wheat in the diet.</p>
<p> The introduction of wheat into the human diet has only been in the last couple thousand years, and it has NEVER been in such large quantities in the human diet until the last 80-100 years.&nbsp; This is a small time frame compared to the traditional diet that the human digestive system developed over several hundred thousand years eating a hunter-gatherer diet of meats, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds.</p>
<p> From my experience with many of my clients, when they heed my advice and eliminate wheat from their diet for 2-3 weeks to see if they start to lose weight and feel better, this almost always makes a HUGE difference.&nbsp; Many times, they not only start losing body fat much faster, but they also finally get rid of headaches and indigestion that has plagued them for years.&nbsp; Sometimes even skin problems go away when eliminating wheat from the diet.</p>
<p> <strong>The 2nd example of the worst fattening foods that shocks many people because it is thought to be &quot;healthy&quot; is &#8212; fruit juice. </strong></p>
<p> Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I&#8217;m not an anti-carb advocate per se&#8230; I actually think most fruits are VERY healthy for us. However, we were NOT meant to separate the juice from the rest of the fruit and only drink the high calorie sugary mixture and leave behind the fiber and other beneficial components of the fruit.</p>
<p> When you only drink the juice of fruits (apple juice and orange juice being 2 of the worst culprits in the western diet), you are not getting the appetite satisfying effect of the fiber in the fruit, and you&#8217;re left craving more carbs.&nbsp; Also, the fiber in whole fruit helps to slow the blood sugar response when eating whole fruit compared to fruit juice.</p>
<p> Bottom line&#8230; overconsuming fruit juices makes you fat.&nbsp; On the other hand, eating whole fruits including all of the fiber helps you maintain a healthy balanced diet and high nutrient density (as long as the rest of your diet is whole unprocessed foods as well).</p>

Egg Yolks &#8211; yes, that&#8217;s right&#8230; full fatty egg yolks with all of their fat and cholesterol.&nbsp; By the way, you&#8217;ve been mislead about the cholesterol in egg yolks &#8212; it actually raises your GOOD cholesterol and helps balance proper ratios, so don&#8217;t be afraid of the fat and cholesterol in these little nutrition power packed gems.&nbsp; And if you choose cage-free eggs from free roaming hens, the omega-3 content is higher with a more balanced fat profile.</p>
<p> Egg yolks are also one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet in terms of vitamins, minerals, and trace nutrients.&nbsp; Trying to list all of the vital nutrients in egg yolks would take up an entire page so I won&#8217;t even try that here.&nbsp; Just realize that egg yolks should NOT be avoided in favor of egg whites.&nbsp; Even the protein is more bioavailable when you include the yolks!</p>

<p> No need to make sacrifices! Just follow these simple guidelines to lose your first 10 pounds, last 10 pounds or give your weight loss program a boost when it seems to have stuttered to a halt. This is a balanced and flexible plan that you can use for as long as you want.</p>

<p> 1.<strong> Keep a note of everything that you eat and drink</strong>. You do not need to estimate calories. Just write down what it was that you had and the approximate quantity. You will find that being more aware of what you are eating helps you to plan healthy meals and snacks.</p>

<p> 6. <strong>Reduce the fat content in your milk products</strong>. If you are currently drinking whole milk, reduce to 2% fat. From 2% reduce to 1%. Choose lower fat cheese and yogurt. When you buy yogurt, also check that it does not contain sugar.</p>
<p> 7. <strong>Have at least two servings of fruit every day</strong>. This can be for dessert or snacks. Choose fruit that is in season.</p>
<p> 8. <strong>Drink water instead of sodas, juices, milky drinks or alcohol.</strong> Avoid diet soda &#8211; the sweet taste only encourages you to crave sugar. Hot water with a slice of lemon can be very refreshing in the morning.</p>

<p> 12. <strong>Use whole grains wherever possible.</strong> The fiber will give you a fuller feeling and also help your digestion.</p>
<p> 13. <strong>Choose food that you can chew.</strong> Again this will increase your fiber intake, and the act of chewing will make you feel more satisfied too. This means eating fruit instead of drinking juice. If you have soup, make sure it is chunky.</p>
<p> 14.<strong> Plan your meals and snacks ahead of time.</strong> Plan your shopping too &#8211; make a list of what you need and stick to it. If you just grab something when you are feeling hungry, you will probably choose high calorie food.</p>
