Top 3 Fat Burning Foods-Suprising Hidden Gems

In all of my years as a professional Nutrition Specialist, I’ve noticed that most people are shocked to hear some of my picks for the top fat burning foods that are best for weight loss and good health.

I won’t bore you with all of the typical "healthy foods" that you hear about all of the time such as fruits and veggies… everybody knows those.  Instead, I’m going to show you some shockers that most people don’t realize are super healthy foods for fat loss.

1. Egg Yolks – yes, that’s right… full fatty egg yolks with all of their fat and cholesterol.  By the way, you’ve been mislead about the cholesterol in egg yolks — it actually raises your GOOD cholesterol and helps balance proper ratios, so don’t be afraid of the fat and cholesterol in these little nutrition power packed gems.  And if you choose cage-free eggs from free roaming hens, the omega-3 content is higher with a more balanced fat profile.

Egg yolks are also one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet in terms of vitamins, minerals, and trace nutrients.  Trying to list all of the vital nutrients in egg yolks would take up an entire page so I won’t even try that here.  Just realize that egg yolks should NOT be avoided in favor of egg whites.  Even the protein is more bioavailable when you include the yolks!

So don’t be afraid to eat those delicious and healthy eggs and start burning belly fat faster .

2.  Avocados – This is yet another "fatty food" that is also one of the best fat burning foods! Not only that, but avocados make just about everything creamier and more delicious.  They are also power-packed with healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants, as well as vitamins and minerals.  The healthy fat in avocados also helps control appetite and fat burning hormones in your body.

Try adding avocado slices or guacamole to everything from morning eggs, salads, sandwiches, and burgers, and starting burning body fat faster! I would definitely consider avocados one of the best healthy super foods.

3.  Grass-fed beef – While most beef you see at the grocery store is grain fed beef from cattle that are in poor health and has lower nutrition values and omega-6 to omega-3 fat ratios that are far out of whack, there is a better option… and that is Grass-Fed Beef!

Grass-fed beef is known to have much higher levels of healthy omega-3 fatty acids and lower omega-6 fats (which most people get too much of anyway).  Grass-fed beef also contains higher levels of many vitamins and minerals, as well as containing high levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), which is a healthy fat that is known to help muscle building and fat burning.

So don’t be afraid to live it up a little and eat more beef, as long as you choose healthy grass-fed beef instead of grain fed beef. Enjoy and start burning more body fat with these so called "fatty" foods!

Belly fat, which is also referred to as stomach fat, visceral fat, pot belly, and so on, is the kind of fat that is found deeper in the body compared to subcutaneous fat, which is located just under the skin. Belly fat is particularly dangerous since it collects around the organs in the abdomen. Health practitioners are sounding the alarm increasingly as more and more Americans are being diagnosed each day with high levels of cholesterol, diabetes, heart diseases, and so on – all of them linked to belly fat.

So, here are some tips on how to lose belly fat:

Lose belly fat by eating 5-6 times in a day. That does not mean 5 to 6 big meals; rather it is about eating smaller meals more frequently. Usually, when we eat the traditional way, eating 3 times a day, we tend to binge, which leads to belly fat. By eating 5-6 small meals a day regularly, it prevents you from overeating. Plus, it also helps in boosting the metabolism, since the body requires energy to digest the food. And, while following this plan, it is also a good idea to keep the heaviest meals at the start of the day and reduce the amount at the end of the day.

Lose belly fat by eating foods that burn fat. Foods that are high in protein and low in carbohydrates, sugar, and saturated fats are the best for losing belly fat. Eggs, fish, lean meats, complex carbs like vegetables, whole grains, and a variety of natural fruits which are not sweetened or canned are the way to go. Avoid simple, refined carbohydrates that contain white sugar or white flour. Include healthy fats such as fish fats, seeds and nuts, olive oil, etc. Essential fatty acids are necessary for process of burning body fat, especially belly fat.

Lose belly fat by drinking the right fluids. In order to lose belly fat, you need to drink plenty of water, particularly when you workout or sweat. Your body requires water in order to function at its optimum best. When you are dehydrated, the organs in the body work harder in order to retain the water reserve of the body. The liver, which helps in burning fat in order to produce energy, is one of the important organs that suffers the most. When the liver’s function is hampered, then the process of burning fat will not be as effective as it needs to be. Avoid drinking canned fruit juices, chocolate drinks, and soft rinks, since their sugar content is very high.

Lose belly fat by lifting weights. Working out with weights induces the abdominal muscles to work harder and thereby become tighter. Chest presses, lat pulldowns, dumbbell rows, free weight squats, and so on, will force your abdominal muscles to work, since in order to perform these exercises correctly, the core muscles have to be stabilized.

Lose belly fat by getting a cardio workout. Keep in mind that in order to lose belly fat, calories need to be burnt. Running, jogging, brisk walking, swimming, tennis, dancing, and cycling are great exercises for burning fat. Cardiovascular exercises provide oxygen to the body, and thereby help in burning calories. Plus, aerobic exercises also provide a boost to the metabolism. The ideal duration of your cardio workout should be 30 to 45 minutes, about three times a week, or more.

Lose belly fat by not overdoing the crunches. You cannot lose your belly fat by doing those endless amounts of crunches. This is because spot reduction cannot be done in any part of the body, including the abdomen. The only way is to lose overall fat in the body, which can be achieved by incorporating healthy eating habits, and stimulating the metabolism by weight training and cardiovascular exercises. This does not imply that the abs should not be worked out at all. After all, there are muscles in the abdomen, which need to be worked out with the correct intensity and then given rest. The best way to do this is incorporating a circuit style of working out the abs on three alternate days in a week.

How To Lose Belly Fat Effectively

Now, more and more people are overweight these days, because of our unhealthy diets and lack of exercise. and most of them tend to gain weight in their belly region due to poor food choices.

I’m one of them, however, I asked for advice from one of my friends, who is a fitness coach, she made a set of fitness plan for me. I have done the exercise for one month, it’s very effective now I decide to share my experience with you.

Eating Snacks

Eat More Nuts. Eat a hand full of nuts each day for more belly fat loss. High in protein and healthy fats, you can’t go wrong with nuts. Nuts can be added to stir fry dishes too, for added flavor and benefits.

Green Tea. Known as a weight loss aid, green tea is full of antioxidants. It is also believed to stimulate loss of belly fat. Aim for 3 cups per day.

Apples. We’ve all heard that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but it may also assist in weight loss in the abdominal area. Try to eat an apple every day.

Sit Ups

The first thing you MUST understand is why you do sit ups. Understand that doing sit ups is not a bad thing to incorporate in your daily life. It’s just not necessary for you to do in order to lose body fat. By doing sit ups, you will be building and shaping your stomach muscles. This is a good thing to do if you are looking to get six pack abs. Unfortunately, the only way you will see your results is to lose your belly fat. The only way to lose your belly fat is to diet.

Strength Training Exercises

Strength Training Exercises is a good way to help lose belly fat. The more lean muscles you have the higher your basal metabolic rate (BMR), or the rate at which you burn calories during the day and night. BMR is responsible for 60 to 70% of the total calories you burn. Strength training exercises are those exercises that will challenge your muscles through resistance. You can do weight lifting, resistance band exercises, dumbbell exercises or even bodyweight exercises. You should aim for 2 to 3 times a week for your strength training workout and work all your muscles including your abdominal exercises. After all, you want to show off your flat stomach once you have lost all the belly fat.

10 Minute Workout

First you want to plan a 10 minutes exercise that you can do on a regular basis. Most people do not know that working out even for only 10 minutes can help you to burn aver 150 calories or more. Make the time to improve your body and your health.

One of the most popular ways to get into a cardio workout is to use squat and thrust. This can help you to get your heart rate up and will increase your metabolism so that you burn enough calories around your mid section. You will get to the point where it will come second nature to do a 10 minute workout.

A Type of Trans Fat That Burns Belly Fat?

 

As a Certified Nutrition Specialist, I usually shock people with this fact… it’s true that there is a type of healthy natural trans fat that actually helps you to burn off abdominal fat.

Sounds far fetched, but it’s true.

First of all, as I’m sure you’ve heard a million times by now, artificial trans fats in our food supply from hydrogenated oils are one of the most unhealthy foods (if you can actually call it suitable to eat) you can put in your body.  Artificial trans fats cause everything from obesity to various cancers to heart disease, and more.  They are pure evil, and everyone knows by now that this is a fact.

Stay away from artificial trans fats from hydrogenated oils at all costs!

However, what most people don’t know is that there is a specific type of natural trans fat (yes, it occurs naturally) that can actually stimulate fat loss and lean muscle building.

This specific type of natural trans fat actually occurs in the meat and milk from ruminant animals such as cattle, goats, sheep, venison, bison, kangaroo, etc.  It is called conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and is not only known to help prevent cancer, but is also a potent fat burner. 

CLA is highest when these animals are grass-fed instead of grain-fed.

Now before you think that you can just buy the CLA supplements that you’ll see most supplement stores selling…

Only the CLA that you get naturally from grass-fed ruminant meats actually has health benefits and can help increase fat burning (particularly from stomach fat) and building lean muscle, which helps increase your metabolism.

Do you want to lose belly fat? Have you been trying really really hard but still not losing more than an inch or two off your waist and that too only temporarily? Have you given up trying to lose belly fat now? Well, it’s time that you get and take a stand and tell your belly fat that it’s time to go. All that it takes is just a strong will power.

To lose belly fat you must be ready for some heavy and strenuous exercise for at least 4-6 months. Be prepared to stretch each and every muscle in your body if you really want to get rid of the belly fat once and for all. Apart from that you’ll also have to alter your dietary habits radically and ensure that you follow a proper diet routine all your life from now on. We will discuss both these points one by one.

As far as exercise goes, the best way to lose a lot of fat is by doing weight training exercises. But before you do any of those it is very important to do some warm up exercises to stretch your muscles. Warm ups are very important and if not done for at least 5-7 minutes, weight training can seriously damage your tissues. Do sit-ups, planks, bicycle crunches and abs scissors. All these exercises are meant to directly attack your belly fat and also to give you that V-shaped body you’ve been longing for.

Also it is proven that supplementing your gym routine and weight training exercises with some cardio-based exercises like cycling, running, jogging or brisk walking, stepper, jumping rope, aerobics go a long way in improving the blood flow and the oxygen flow in the body. Improved oxygen flow in turn keeps you agile and energetic all day long because your body burns more carbs when oxygen supply is higher.

The other important point to be given attention to lose belly fat is following a proper diet. A proper diet does not only fill your stomach but should also help to keep your body fit and provide all the minerals and vitamins necessary to keep the body’s processes running at the optimum speeds. Our fast paced lives leave very little time for eating and so as to fill our stomachs during those short meal breaks we eat junk food like burgers, hot dogs, pizzas and what not. All these fast foods are high in fats and low in protein or vitamins and minerals.

You must eat lots of fresh fruits and boiled veggies instead of eating a burger for breakfast. Also you should replace your cooking oil with olive oil which has been proven to be far better than any other cooking oil in terms of fatty content. Apart from that you must also included pulses and sprouts in your everyday eating menu. These are high in protein and minerals and contain almost negligible amount of fats.

You might have tried anything to lose belly fat but only a combination of right diet and right exercise can bring in the best of the results.

Belly Fat – The Final Frontier!

The problem with working on your stomach area is that body fat stored there, not the muscles underneath. People will do crunches and sit-ups until they puke and wonder why the beer belly goes no where. What is really needed is a reduction in overall body fat and the belly will follow suit. Once this is done the muscle underneath will show through and crunches can do their magic.

Diet doesn’t always mean a reduction in calorie intake. It can be better to eat smaller meals more times a day. Somehow it became the standard to eat three square meals a day in most developed countries. Think about five to six smaller meals spread through out the day. This helps keep your body’s metabolism running high and uses the calories as they are received. The belly is like a dumping ground for excess calories. When we eat more than we need, extra calories are stored in fat cells, a large population of which exists in our mid sections. So try to eat what you need as you need it.

Re-think exercise. Instead of crunches and sit ups, do more aerobic exercise to get your heart rate and metabolism up. More muscle overall will help burn more fat. Start simple with walking around the block, parking further from the office door, or take the stairs not the elevator. These small steps should be continued as you begin a normal exercise routine of strength training and aerobics as they will add that extra little bit to keep your metabolism burning fat.

Stress is a fact of life. We are hard wired to be stressful, it is part of our flight or fight response mechanism. What happens is as stress occurs the body will store extra fat in anticipation of either a need for the energy in a light response or for a possible calorie shortage in the future.Add to this the fact a lot of people use food as stress relief and weight gain is inevitable. If you have already worked through the two previous points, this one should already be on the mend. Smaller meals means there is less extra calories to store as fat.A healthy exercise routine will help your body combat stress naturally and counter act the weight gain on two fronts.

I don’t do a lot of cooking so I actually put a tablespoon into my protein shake after a workout. You can’t even taste it.

Hazelnuts, Cashews & Almonds: Another thing that you can eat to lose belly fat are a variety of nuts. Nuts such as; hazelnuts, cashews and almonds all have a good amount of monosaturated fat in them. You can have these are a snack or top a salad with them.

Honey Nut Oatmeal: stir in some honey and nuts into an oatmeal breakfast to help you feel satisfied.

All in all, in the fight to flatten your tummy, try incorporating these simple foods into your diet. It’s simple but it’s the best way to lose belly fat. Mixing these into your diet should be an easy no hassle way to help you lose some unwanted weight.
